The Associations between Metacognitive Reading Strategies and Critical Reading Self-Efficacy: Mediation of Reading Motivation

چکیده

The aim of this study is to test the mediation reading motivation between preservice teachers' metacognitive strategies and critical self-efficacy. For purpose, a sample 482 teachers studying at education faculty state university located in city center Central Black Sea Region spring semester 2019-2020 academic year. Participants were determined by convenience sampling method. Self-efficacy Perception Questionnaire about Critical Reading Skills, Metacognitive Strategies Scale Adult Motivation Inventory used as data collection tools. In analysis data, was performed with Pearson Product-Moment correlation using Jamovi software. findings obtained, it found that there positive highly significant relationships dependent, independent mediator variables. be predictors addition, predictor According carried out result provided these assumptions, has been revealed motivations have partial mediating role conclusion, explains some relationship reading.
